Packing up your moving truck can be stressful and daunting. In order to pack what seems like your entire life into a moving truck, there are a few steps you need to take into consideration before you start filling the truck.
If you don’t have any of the above supplies, you can pick them up at a local moving truck or rental location. You should be able to find them there.
Move all your furniture and items out front near the moving truck.
Keep these appliances in their upright positions and distribute the heaviest items along the back wall.
LOAD LARGE FURNITURE
Disassemble your furniture. Taking smart precautions like removing couch cushions from your couch, taking bulbs out of lamps and taking drawers out of your dressers will make packing them into the truck a lot easier.
Keep these items upright and place them along the walls and sides of the moving truck. If any of your longer items have drawers, make sure they are facing the wall of the truck. That way they can’t open and fall out.
Label your boxes clearly.
Stack your heaviest and biggest boxes on the bottom, your medium sized boxes in the middle and your lightest boxes on top.
LOAD REMAINING ITEMS
Load all of your remaining items into the truck as tightly as possible without having them squeeze together too much.
Squeezing pillows and your smaller items into the open nooks and crannies of your moving truck is a great way to fill empty space and still be able to get everything in the back of your moving truck.
